Chicken n waffles are the bomb! Not to mention their mixed berries parfait- so yummy . The outdoor eating area (canvas tent) however, needs better ventilation and maybe another fan, as it gets stuffy, air stagnant especially when it's sunny and warm.

First time here. Small restaurant, family friendly, with delicious food! I had the crab Benedict and it was great! My group opted for the unlimited mimosas and the peach mimosa was delicious. Service is excellent. There can be a wait but service is quick. Definitely worth checking out!

Visited The Hangout for the first time on a weekday and had a great experience. There was no wait, service was great, and our food came out fast. This isn't a typical breakfast place (has some Asian fusion type of items one the menu). So although the menu doesn't include all of my favorite usual breakfast items, I still give this place 5 stars! Also, the French toast was amazing!

Overall, pretty good experience here. Came here for a Friday brunch and it was still surprisingly crowded, but got a table fairly quickly. I cannot imagine what it would be like on a weekend morning...personally, I would probably avoid that, but I'm not one for weekend brunch craziness. However, the place is in a shopping center so parking is plentiful. We sat outside under the tent. It is hard to miss the tent - you will see it when you park. It is lowkey dilapidated as another reviewer mentioned. It looks trashy from the exterior; they should definitely spruce it up. However, the inside was still cool on a warm day and my dog could join us, which is always a plus. They provided my dog with water without being asked. Great! Server was nice and attentive. I got an iced black tiger coffee to start (brown sugar and oat milk). I asked for less sweet because the waitress said it comes sweet like boba drinks do, but that they can make it less sweet. However, it was a sugar BOMB. It was like literal syrup. I know some people like super sweet coffee, but I prefer to taste the actual coffee, and you can't with this drink. The food...it took a loooong time for the food to come out. My friends and I all noticed how long it was taking - over 30 minutes. I ordered the chicken and waffle bites off the appetizer menu. If you can't eat a ton of food in one sitting, the bites are perfect. Still a decent amount of food, too, and you save some money doing that. When we finally did get the food, it was good - fried chicken, not too dry, with fluffy waffle bites. Yummy spicy mayo to pair with it. Kind of hard to go wrong there! I would have dinged them another star for the food coming out so late, but the waitress comped all of our drinks as a courtesy because of the wait. We didn't ask her to do that nor did we even complain about the wait, but she just knew to do that. I thought that was really nice and I appreciated that a lot. For that alone, I would return to this place.

I love this restaurant especially for brunch! You can never go wrong with anything you order here. The food is always consistently delicious, fresh and a variety of food they offer. The staff is always so friendly, the cleanliness of the seating areas inside or outside the patio, they provide plenty of parking because it's at a small shopping center. It's a family-friendly ambiance and noise level isn't too loud. I highly recommend this restaurant for great food and great customer service!

Came here for their chicken waffles and let me tell you, it's enough to serve 2. Chicken was super crispy but still juicy inside. My bf had the noodle but was a little bland to my liking. We came here on Friday for breakfast so it wasn't too crowded but I think they're short on staffs. They have a huge menu so we'll definitely come back next time.

The poutine was 10/10 wow. I didn't expect it to be that great but the curry + gravy combo was chef's kiss the bits of bacon and the pepper Jack cheese were just perfection for me. I often go to the Yelp page before coming to the restaurant to see what they're known for and I came here specifically for the Berry Lover French Toast. Reviewers said it was a pretty large portion and it looked like what restaurant French toast SHOULD look like. Not thin pieces of toast dipped in egg wash and dusted with powdered sugar. The French toast wasn't soggy until I got to the middle but that's only because of the massive mound of fruit! Which I didn't mind. The combo of the poutine and French toast was a great savory/sweet combo with the French toast not being too sweet. Helps that the French toast came with a strawberry sauce and not syrup. Service was ok, nothing out of this world but also nothing to complain about. Got the job done, filled our waters when the cups were half full (or half empty, depending on your perspective ) Didn't get to sit inside because we were seated in the canopy/tent outside. But when I went to the bathroom, the inside was nice and cool. They even have bar seating. The food came out pretty quick, only gripe is that I wish the poutine came out earlier than the main course. It was advertised on the menu as a "Bite", not sure if that means appetizer but that was my thought. Not mad at it though cuz I'm happy to take home leftovers and enjoy this incredible meal again! I will come back here for the poutine.

I visited The Hangout in Pleasant Hill, CA for the second time on Friday, 6/21/24, around 10:30 AM for breakfast. There was not a wait and I was able to sit down immediately. For food, I decided to order the Chick Katsu Curry. The dish came out fairly quickly. The entire plate was pleasant in flavor, especially from the gravy. The egg was cooked to perfection. The chicken was seasoned well and had a nice crispy texture. The potatoes were nicely soft. I paired the meal with the Raspberry Lemonade. The lemonade had subtle/muted notes of raspberry. The flavor wasn't as profound as anticipated, however, it was still refreshing. The customer service was much better this time around. The staff members were friendly and attentive. I'd come back to The Hangout on weekday mornings moving forward.
